Go Mets!
Red Sox fans may not want to watch this but DAMN is it funny.
Myself being a Mets fan since birth (born in Queens) and a Red Sox fan by location (you cannot live in Boston for 15 years and not become a fan). I can still feel the thrill of this game even when it is played on a Nintendo.

My first Baseball game of the season will be on Thursday at Fenway, Toronto vs the Red Sox, with my little sister, Jenny, who is unfortunately a Yankee fan. I'll be rooting for the Sox but wearing my Mets cap.

Gifts
For my birthday I got money, salt, a brother-in-law and a polo shirt.
Also, as Mom is selling the family homestead I brought home the following:A clock.
An airconditioner.
A Telescope.
An aluminum bat.
My dish set from when I was a baby.
A black and white portrait of me as a baby.
My dad's Diploma from Southern Mississippi.
A computer that I gave my mom 2 years ago.
A broken 35mm Pentax camera body.
As for the gifts, my mom gave me cold hard cash and a kiss. My brother Chris gave me the Polo shirt for golf. My sister Mary gave me a card that contained a packet of salt and was rather funny. Kelly let it be known to us all that she got married to Scott way back on July 8th of last year.
That's a good gift.

Unread Books
I am surrounded by them. There are way too many and I have less time than ever to read them. There are 2 piles 3 feet tall by the door. Double shelved by the bed. In boxes all over the house.
I used to be able to read a book rather quickly. I would always read on lunch breaks, but now I don't have time to do anything but eat during them. I would read when I got home, but now I find myself reaching for the cable remote. I would read before bed, but now I fall asleep before I even open it up.
I have done more reading on my current book in the last 2 days then in the last 4 weeks.
The fact that I am only reading 1 book is bad enough. I used to read 2 to 3 at a time. I would mix a History tome with some mystery or sci-fi and add a sprinkle of engineering to even out the brew.
I need to stop. Sit down and start reading every day again.
I need to take a book to work, disappear during lunch, away from the co-workers and read.
