Browser wars
Kottke is wondering what everyone's browser stats are, so here are mine:
Site Meter Stats: (For Feb 2005)
IE: 53% (48% IE 6.x; 5% IE 5.x)
Mozilla: 43% (40 % Firefox; 3% Mozilla/Netscape)
Safari: 3%
Opera: 1%
Extreme Tracking: (since 2001)
IE: 87.57%
Netscape: 11.74%
Other: 0.42%
Opera: 0.10%
AOL: 0.05%
WebTV: 0.01%
Webalizer is no help. Which is funny, as it is my server's stat program. The other 2 are just free.
These stats are kind of odd. I use Firefox for everything. At work, at home, on my Mac and on my Windows boxes. Yet IE is the main browser.
And I know that I am the only one who ever goes to this site, everyone else gets here by Google searches.

Castle Geyser
More photos up on my Flickr account.
This is my favorite geyser at Yellowstone. I sat and watched it for over an hour. It kept having small eruptions the whole time I was there. It is supposed to erupt about every 10 to 12 hours for 20 minutes.
There is now a photo set about my cross country trip that will keep growing as I post more photos.

Kilogram Poses Weighty Problem (Wired)
"It's unclear if the principal cylinder's mass is increasing or decreasing, scientists said, because it is the object used to measure others. Still, this poses a concern. Another worry is the possibility of the main model's destruction, come a natural disaster."

Comma
I don't feel like writing things down on paper. Or making notes on one of the computers that litter my life like so much wasted time. I should force myself, like I am forcing myself now, to sit down, somewhere, with either pen or keyboard and type inane crap that might, one day, lead to a story. Or I could just keep writing crap, crap with lots, and lots of commas.
I went to Tampa last weekend. I saw some friends. I was warm, and the sun kind of woke me up. I saw 2 baby alligators in the wild, and wondered what their mother would do if the kid on the shore got to close. (My friends warned him away, not evil are they)
I came back here to the snow, and the computers, and my housemates' dogs, and not much of anything else. Sad, I know.
I've been meaning to write more here, but it seems like I get web anxiety when I log on the site, and instead show you links to other people's creative juices. Instead of writing, I think of what I could be writing, then play Hearts, or Scrabble, or Yahtzee, until I am too tired to keep my eyes open, and go to sleep. That is when the ideas come, when I am too tired to move, and my brain, now WIDE AWAKE, is rolling with ideas.
I need to do more math. More calculus. I need to read, reading is always a good thing, but I have not gone near the 3 piles books, where each pile is 3 feet tall. The books are in a corner now, covered in dirty laundry. Not a good atmosphere for them. They need dusty shelves not smelly clothes.
I'm just rambling now.
No thoughts about what I should say, and now the thought comes of deleting this post and starting a new one that is just links to someone else's site.
Someone who writes more often than I.
Now I notice on a read through how this is the typical "I'm sorry I'm not writing more post" and feel a little despair mixed with joy. I think of deleting it once more.
Instead I'll make some tea, see if the dogs are up, and stare at the snow falling outside.

Add another rather large piece of trash onto the heap of space. It will still cost us money to send a robotic craft to the Hubble to steer it into the ocean.
