The problem with Paul Ford
Is that everything on his site is funny, and easy to find. The scientist we spoke with, Dr. Charles Pinglador, wore a smock and nothing else. Also during that meeting, a goat ran out in the middle of the meeting, screamed out several key scenes from King Lear, and keeled over dead.
This makes it difficult to appreciate.

Perfect Magic Cube of Order 5 Discovered.
I just hope, that tonight, I don't dream of Magic Cubes. Math dreams make me a little crazy. When in school, I would sometimes wake after dreaming in equations. Spending your whole night dreaming of Longitudinal and Lateral Equations of Motion [PDF] are enough to push you over the edge.
Literally.

5 stars
The only problem with watching the extended editions is that you want to see the extended edition of the next film. You don't want to wait until a year from now to see The Return of the King extended edition, you want to see it on December 17th.
The additions were very well placed and bring more elements of the book into the movies. I won't talk about them more, don't want to spoil it for you.
But Buy it now.
Watch it now.
I think I will be having a Lord of the Rings showing of the first 2 extended the weekend before Return of the King premieres.

Plans
I had no idea what I was going to do tonite. I was going to play it by ear, then I got home.
This arrived from Amazon.
I won't be leaving the house tonite. I am going to pop some popcorn, get some soda and sit back and watch.
I still haven't decided if I want to watch the Extended Fellowship before, and get the back to back experience tonite or wait til before Return of the King.
12:07 PM
I used to do this on my answering machine
BRIDGEKEEPER: Hee hee heh. Stop! What is your name?
ARTHUR: It is Arthur, King of the Britons.
BRIDGEKEEPER: What is your quest?
ARTHUR: To seek the Holy Grail.
BRIDGEKEEPER: What is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
ARTHUR: What do you mean? An African or European swallow?
BRIDGEKEEPER: Huh? I-- I don't know that! Auuuuuuuugh!
BEDEVERE: How do know so much about swallows?
ARTHUR: Well, you have to know these things when you're a king, you know.

Give an inch lose a TV show
There are only 2 shows this season that I would sell my future offspring to watch. 24 and Carnivale.
So, there is only 1 thing that can make me happy, the ability to watch these 2 shows. Now Luckily Carnivale is on whenever I want, thanks to on demand, but 24 is only on Tuesday nights at 9pm. Last year Fox would show it 3 times a week, once on Fox and then twice on FX. Unfortunately this year it is different:
We have NO plans to repeat any of the episodes of the show this season - on either FOX nor FX.
So get that VCR humming if you can't watch the show in its regular TUES 9pm ET/PT timeslot.
Thanks for writing
ASKFOX (Email from Fox TV's Website)
The problem for me is that I don't have a programmable VCR. If I want to record a show I have to press record manually when the show is on. (Don't ask, combo VCR/TV with no remote) Last Tuesday, I forgot to do this and to my horror missed episode 3. I am still kicking myself over that one.
This week I made sure that the TV was on and the VCR recording before I left the house at 7PM for my weekly night of darts and beer. I got home to find that someone entered my room, as it was no longer locked. A voicemail had informed me earlier that the wireless network went down. So I assumed someone entered to reset the modem and wireless radio.
The TV was off when I entered the room.
With just 10 minutes left (Oh yeah I fucking checked),usually the best part of 24, one of my housemates turned off my TV, therefore stopping the taping of those minutes. (TV/VCR combo units suck)
Now my housemates have the right to reset the modem and the wireless radio, as I have told them they can enter my room to do so, but they aren't allowed to touch ANY-FUCKING-THING-ELSE!!!!!!!!!!
I am very pissed and pissed off right now. I don't even want to watch the 50 minutes I have taped, its almost useless.
AARRRGGGHHHHHHH!
(It's the little things that will cause the heart attack some day)
I really fucking need that TiVo (but I still haven't been paid for work yet)

Just some boring facts.
Added some flicks to my Wish List and updated the rest of it. (As in I bought them myself.)
Carnivale has become my favorite new series of this season. Sampson appeared to me in my dreams last night, which has to be better than having Scudder in my head, but not by much (who really wants a Carny Dwarf in their head). My cable service just upgraded me to On Demand and I get to watch any episode whenever I want. Its making me crave a TIVO.
Badly.
If I actually get paid this week I might be tempted to buy one.
I have been really tired lately, yet here I am up at almost midnight instead of trying to get some shuteye.

Malaise
I think, for the second weekend in a row, I am sick. I am not positive that I am sick this weekend because all I am doing right now is sneezing. I also have a little bit of congestion. It could just be the dust as I am cleaning* my room again, and I am allergic to 68.3% of all forms of dust and dander.
If I am sick, it better just be for a few more hours, I hopefully should feel all better by around 4PM tomorrow. I am going to the Pats - Cowboys game, which starts at 8:30, and I don't want to be sick while tailgating.
Cause that would suck.
I really need to organize my books, and papers, and magazines, and clothes, and fuck all else.
Ugh, I really don't feel well.

Work.
I gotta pick up the ball a little bit more. I haven't been doing anything until the end of the week, and starting an assignment on a Friday and not continuing it until the next Friday ain't the thing to do.
Home.
Why can't I get at least a little bit organized and pack/throw out/sell some of my junk and excess shit. 4 computers, college notes and exams, bills from 1995, its like a time warp. Also I need to redecorate, pull down the posters and put up the framed pictures.
Car.
Really needs to be washed, and driven on excursions again.
Polymorphism.
Have to work on.

New Who
Few things make me chirp like a bird with happiness.
This definitely did. New Doctor Who episodes on BBC 1 in 2005. I just need to find a job and an apartment in London and the world will be marvelous.
If I had found out in September my life would have been so much more happier these past few months.
Yes I am insane.

House Plant
She came home and found the body. It was no longer whole, bodyparts were haphazardly stacked on her end table and the torso was in her sink. She stood, the front door still open, the man she just picked up at her local bar stumbling up the steps. She turned around, closed the door and threw up in the hydrangea on her front porch. The man just stared at her, his hopes for the evening, he feared now dashed. She crumpled into the corner and stared out upon the night sky. Eventually after attempting to get her to speak he called a taxi and went home.

Just started my upgrade to Mac OS X v10.3
Also have been cleaning my room, or more to the point, cleaning my desk and making my room messier. But then you can't have it both ways. The stuff has to go somewhere, right now that place is my bed, but when I go to sleep it might be the floor unless I finish.

Briefest stint as President ever
Daniel Goldin, former NASA Administrator, was supposed to be sworn in as President of BU today. But instead the school gave him $1.8 million to walk away.
That's a good use of school resources, don't ya think? The next time I get an email or letter asking to donate to my former school I'll send this Globe article instead.
From the email I received from the Board of Trustees:
"Also, the Board and Daniel Goldin reached a mutual agreement that he will not become the next President of the University. Each party wished the other well and agreed not to disclose any further details of the resolution."
Excerpt from email from Dr. Aram V. Chobanian, the newly appointed President ad interim and Dean of the Medical School:"I am truly honored to be selected to lead this outstanding university and thank the Trustees for their overwhelming support. Boston University is going through a difficult transition in leadership that will need to be resolved quickly and then be put behind us so that we can continue to build upon the extraordinary existing strengths of our institution."
We'll see where the school goes now, and if they can get anyone to become President after this fiasco.
