Just finished round one of the

There are times when I feel the need to write but I don't go to the computer. I don't pull out pen and paper. I don't record my thoughts on that voice recorder I so want. I let those thoughts, those ideas disappear. Sometimes I may remember them later, and I may be able to write them down. But all to often they are never recorded at all. The amount of ideas for stories that I have had and have done nothing with are legion.

So what do I do to stop this? I try to have a pad of paper handy. It helps but I really must try to set some time aside everyday to sit and write.

I am bored. "Bored Beyond Belief" as Steve Martin wrote in
    LA Story.

I need a job, it would add some structure to my life. Kind of odd that that is the prime reason to have one. At this time I don't even care what that job might entail. If you want to hire me please email me. For those of you who don't know, I am a graduate of BU with an BS in Aerospace Engineering. Resume. (It sucks I know but hey)

I haven't been reading anything of late. Just email and webpages. I have been reading the same old magazines, Scientific American and Air and Space. I have been reading the same comics, Lucifer and Hunter: Age of Magic. But I haven't picked up a book in some time. Which is odd as I usually read a book a week if not more, but ever since I quit my last job and graduated from school I have been slow. All my time is now leisure time and so I don't feel the need to escape into a book. There is nothing to escape from. Just the same day, in and out.

Had 2 interviews today, I think that they went well. The two positions that are open are for next year, so I don't know if I will be working there. Also though the company makes parts for the aeospace industry, the positions aren't generally for an Aerospace engineer. They were both Mechanical and Manufacturing positions. Who knows, if anything it was worth it just to have an interview.

Lockheed Martin got the Joint Strike Fighter Contract. Estimated $200 billion. So the X-35 wins out over the X-32. I always thought that the Lockheed X-35 was going to win because it looked more like a fighter. I can see Air Force and Navy pilots sitting around and saying "Hell NO! I'm not flying in that" even though I know that both aircraft met all the criteria goals.

In other news, I have an interview with Ametek Aerospace on Monday the 29th.

YIPPEE, a job interview. I'm happy.

Went to the MFA today. First time I have been there in over 4 years, and that time it was for a performance of very short Mozart pieces. So I get there, of course, at 4:15. The museum shuts down at 4:45 on normal days. But on Wed to Fri its open to 9:45. But only the West Wing (1st and 2nd floors). That means the Asia collection (Netsuke: Fantasy and Reality in Japanese Miniature Sculpture) and the European Paintings, Evans Wing 2nd floor. I was able to get into the American paintings collection but wasn't able to stay long so I only really got to see the Colonial Portraits, mainly George Washington.

So then I wandered up to the Impressionism display (which luckily is open to 9:45). I love Monet and van Gogh etc... There was a Pissarro and a few others that were favorites of mine from what was displayed. Unfortunately the paintings that I really was hooked on aren't on the online database. Oh well. Go there yourself and look around. I'll have to go back at a later date to see the rest of the museum but I better show up earlier next time.

I made a short list of my faves of the day: (update I found online pictures for most)

    Claude Monet, French, 1840–1926
"Boulevard St.-Denis Argenteuil, in Winter" (1875)
"Valley of the Petite Creuse" (1889)
"Ships in a Harbor" (circa 1873)
"Rue de la Bavolle, Honfleur" (circa 1864)

    Camille Pissarro, French, 1830–1903
"Morning Sunlight on the Snow, Eragny-sur-Epte" (1895)

    Vincent van Gogh, Dutch, 1853–1890
    "Ravine" (1889)

Joseph Mallord William Turner, British, 1775–1851
"Slave Ship (Slavers Throwing Overboard the Dead and Dying, Typhoon Coming On)" (1840) Which says that a photo is not on file, but it is here. odd.

Now I want to go to Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum tomorrow, but I might wait til November 1st for the next exibition.

Today I got off my ass and did something. I got on my bike, for the first time since the
lovely incident in July. I went to the Career Center and actually started the process for getting a job.

Just to let you know I follow Newton's First Law in my habits. That means I tend to sit around and do nothing. It takes alot of will (aka outside force) to get me moving. But once I do get moving it takes another outside action to slow me down or stop me (aka falling off bike and breaking arm) and until that happens I just keep going. (Side note, TV is one of those forces also.) So now I got the ball rolling, more on interviews and stuff later on. I have to get out of the house or the TV might persuade me to go back into hibernation.

I'm sick and tired of the news conferences. I don't know why I still watch them. No new information. No new news. Just repeated statements, repeated questions, and confusing, sometimes contradicting statements. You would think that they would pick one way of handing out this information. The defense department should deal with just events that are overseas. All else should go through Homeland Security. But by the time that Tom Ridge gets to the podium, all the information that he is prepared to give has already been handed out. He does not have all of the up to date information on him, nor does he have the people there to answer those questions for him. The people he does bring to the podium are just eye candy. The mayor of DC. A spokesman for the Postal Carriers.

Ridge constantly says "I'll let the CDC give you those answers..." or the FBI, or FEMA, or.... He should have those people there. They are supposed to be all reporting to him. They should all be represented at these conferences so that the questions will be answered, if they at that time can be. Every time that he says that "you should refer that question to...." I feel that he does nothing and is just window dressing.

I've been a little out of it lately. I haven't had any desire to write or move or anything else. I am just slightly depressed.

I have been in New York at my Mother's house in West Islip. I just got back to Boston this week. Visited NYC twice in that time. I have some stuff that I wrote about that, but its on paper, so you'll have to wait til I feel like transferring it into the digital. Tomorrow I shop for some interview suits.

Also we will be having a pre-Halloween party on the 20th at 9. Doug is really going all out for this, but I can't generate any enthusiasm.

I have a headache. I get them alot. Sometimes they appear for no reason. Sometimes they appear when something is going or has gone wrong. Mostly they deal with stress. But I am not stressed right now. If anything I should be relaxed. I have no responsibilities. I have no major health problems. The members of my family are all ok. I have enough money to last at least til December 1st without a job. If I spend wisely, something that I am not known to do all that often.

Right now I am listening to
New Order's Substance. My favorite song on it is "Murder" on disc 2. The soundbits from 2001 are perfect.

My headache is subsiding. Must be the Excedrin.

I have been trying to post at least once everyday recently. It is something that Mitsu once said that he tried to do. If you have a weblog you should at least try to put something, anything no matter how inane or stupid down each day. That way you get in the habit and sooner or later you find your voice and write about things that mean something to you. You get in to a habit of voicing your opinion, your tastes, your thoughts and feelings. It becomes second nature to you. This hasn't happened with me yet.

I really need to purchase a voice recorder. I have wanted one for some time but have yet to find one that would suit my need here in Boston. I want a digital recorder that can download the files to my computer, preferably by USB. it needs to be small enough that I can carry it anywhere. I could get an attatchment for my Visor but that is just too bulky for what I want it to be. Of course I could buy the seperate battery pack but I want a standalone recorder. I have to look in to it a little deeper.

But then again saying that I am waiting until I get a voice recorder before I start anything meaningful could just be another stall.

    I've been going to Daypop's
    Top 40 list alot recently.

I bought that new bed frame, now I might just buy a new mattress. My room is a mess.

My friend Keith's father is not doing so good. He was supposed to go in for surgery today. They cancelled it. His father has cancer. So does his mother. I hope that all is ok and that the surgery can proceed. All this brings up bad memories of my own father's fight with cancer. I will be going to my mom's this weekend. I will try to give them as much support as I can.

    Things To Do:
Buy New Futon Frame (Or bed Frame?)
    Laundry
    Clean Room

    Exciting day ahead.

I'm going to my Mother's house on Friday.

This seems interesting maybe I'll start that
novel. It at least would give me a reason to start. Especially when you just have to write, hell it just has to be 50,000 words, it could suck, it probably will suck. Hell it might be fun. More on this later.

Maiko took away her couch yesterday. We are looking for a replacement. As long as it looks better then these 10 then we will take it.
